Disney Legend Joe Rohde Teases a Big Announcement Later This Week
If you have been following along here at MickeyBlog over the past few weeks, you know that Disney Legend Joe Rohde has been very active on Instagram over the past few weeks.
During that time, we have seen Rohde share behind-the-scenes stories about the creation of DinoLand, U.S.A., give his thoughts on the upcoming Tropical Americas land, and muse about the importance of themed environments and the potential impact of AI and IP on them.
If you are a Disney fan, particularly one who is interested in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, it has been an exciting time.

Now, however, Rohde has taken to Instagram for a different kind of post.
Rohde Teases a Big Announcement
In a new Instagram post, Rohde shared a brief video teasing an upcoming project that he is working on.

While the Disney Legend kept things close to the vest, he did reveal that more information will be released later this week.

What Is the Mystery Project
Now, before we speculate about what Rohde’s big announcement will be, it is important to note that he did not say it was Disney-related.
The last we heard, Rohde was working on “space tourism” projects for Virgin Galactic.

On the other hand, the legendary Imagineer did return to Disney in 2024 to “do a little bit of work.” Since then, neither Rohde nor Disney has revealed what that work was related to.
Perhaps, however, we will learn more later this week.
