Disney and ITV Expand United Kingdom Partnership
Late last year, Disney and the United Kingdom’s ITV network reached a first-of-its-kind deal that saw the two entities share content across their respective streaming services.
As part of the agreement, Disney+ began carrying a selection of ITV titles under a banner that reads “Taste of ITVX (the channel’s streaming service).”

Among the series included were Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office, A Spy Among Friends, and Love Island.
‘Taste of Disney+’
For their part, ITVX debuted a new “Taste of Disney+” section, featuring streaming hits such as The Bear, Andor, Only Murders in the Building, and The Kardashians.
“[The deal] is really powerful for us and will help drive consideration in a demo which hasn’t considered us as much under our sign ups,” Disney+ EMEA General Manager Karl Holmes boasted.

“And at the same time, we get some of the U.K.’s biggest shows to put in front of our younger audience. And it does the same for ITV in reverse. It all works because of the complementarity of the audiences.”
The Deal Is Expanding
Seven months after Disney and ITV announced their new partnership, the two companies have agreed to expand the parameters of the deal.

As part of the latest agreement, The Stolen Girl and The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox will air on ITV’s flagship linear channel ITV1.
Both productions will be broadcast as “Disney+ Presents a Hulu Original.”

“This marks an exciting next step in our collaboration with ITV,” Holmes said. “We’re thrilled that two of our most compelling original series will air on ITV’s powerful primetime platform. Introducing millions more viewers to Hulu Originals on Disney+.”
