The Most Affordable Table Service Spots at Disney World
I’m a diehard proponent of Table Service dining at Walt Disney World. Well, I used to be.
We all know the truth, as Disney has raised prices at all of its sit-down restaurants.

In an extreme example, the formerly economical bottomless skillets at Whispering Canyon Cafe now cost $45 per person.
Not that long ago, they cost $25 per person, and I ate one for $15 during the pandemic.

Eating a nice but inexpensive meal has grown more challenging over the last three years.
So, here are some of the most affordable Table Service dining options.
50’s Prime Time Café

50s Prime Time Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We’ll start at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a place where I don’t always recommend that people eat.
I’m on record as saying you can find better foodie options by taking the Disney Skyliner to other locations.

Despite this fact, I still recommend 50’s Prime Time Café because it’s just plain fun.
Admittedly, it’s not for everyone. Some guests, especially introverts, dislike the somewhat abrasive, aggressive nature of the experience.

Your server will treat you like you’re a member of the family, and I don’t mean that in a good way.
They may demand that you clean your plate or clear the table once you’ve finished eating.

I find it funny, as I grew up in a large family, and this was my childhood.
Just as importantly, the hearty entrees here cost as little as $20-$22.

Meanwhile, two of the high-quality dishes, Chicken Pot Pie and Meatloaf, are currently $26 each.
You pay more than that for a Valentine’s Day meal.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

I almost hate mentioning this one, because I’m afraid someone at Disney World will notice.
Thankfully, this is a Disney Springs establishment that Disney doesn’t own, which means that the pricing speaks to the generosity of Art Smith.

Homecomin’ is among the most challenging Advanced Dining Reservations to book at Walt Disney World.
Therefore, you’d expect the entrees to be priced accordingly.

Remarkably, you can order delectable dishes such as Shrimp & Grits or Fried Chicken & Donuts for $30-$32.
Art’s Famous Fried Chicken costs just $34, although I’d argue you’d be getting a steal at twice that price.

His fried chicken recipe is life-changing.
Grand Floridian Cafe

Grand Floridian Cafe
Speaking of delicious chicken dishes, you can order Buttermilk-fried Chicken and Waffle for brunch here for just $27.
As the name implies, you’re dining at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, so you shouldn’t be expecting a deal like that one.

The prices here are as affordable as anything else on this list.
Here are a few examples:

Signature Burger from Grand Floridian Cafe
- Grand Floridian Cafe Signature Burger – $26
- Slow-braised Pork Shank – $34
- Farmer’s Market Vegetable Curry with Chicken – $30
- Miso-glazed Salmon – $31

You now understand why my family eats at Grand Floridian Cafe so often during our vacations.
It’s a pristine setting with a shockingly reasonable and high-quality menu.
Kona Cafe

This used to be at the top of my list during every Disney World visit.
Tragically, the company kept changing the menu, though.

Hamachi Tuna Roll
I still lament the loss of my beloved Kona Kone, which I once considered the best dessert at Disney World.
Still, the most recent version of Kona Cafe’s menu is the best one in the 2020s.

You can order Sushi Rolls here for $19-$28, while Poke Bowls cost $22-$25.
In terms of conventional entrees, Sauteed Red Quinoa sells for a reasonable $27, the Salmon is $32, and my beloved Pork Chop is $33.

I’ll confess that the pork chop is what has lured me back to this Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort restaurant after a few years away.
The Plaza Restaurant

I’ll just level with you that three of the final four restaurants aren’t necessarily the best places to eat at Walt Disney World.
Then again, I don’t vote on Michelin stars or anything. I’m just telling you what’s cheap.

Photo: Disney
The Plaza on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. is exactly that, as the Chipotle Barbecue Pork Sandwich costs a mere $17.
Folks, that’s cheaper than many Quick Service dining options.

Photo: Disney
The pricing makes sense, because it’s a glorified Applebee’s-esque establishment.
The most expensive entree here costs $27.

Photo: Disney
From our perspective, that means that the milkshakes are basically free, and I’d be offending my server if I didn’t order one.
Rainforest Cafe

I realize my mentioning this one may feel a bit hypocritical based on previous advice.
I think my exact quote was “Never eat at Rainforest Cafe when you’re at Disney World.”

Realistically, I know that many of you will ignore that suggestion, which is better news for your wallet than your stomach.
Sandwiches and burgers start at $19.99, and you can get a full rack of ribs for $30.99.

Photo: Rainforest
On Super Bowl Sunday, I paid $24 for a half rack at my neighborhood eatery.
My point is that I’d expect a Disney restaurant to charge more than a local BBQ joint.

Rainforest Cafe doesn’t, which explains why I can’t talk you out of eating here.
Rix Sports Bar & Grill

Rix at Coronado Springs Resort
Why do people like me recommend Rix Sports Bar & Grill to people like you?
This is THE easiest Advanced Dining Reservation to book at Walt Disney World.

Photo: AllEars.net
That’s only telling you half the story, too, as you’ll never need a reservation here except maybe on Super Bowl Sunday.
Rix is a dining option at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in the same way that a dive bar in your city is a dining option for you tonight.

Photo: Disney
You could go, but we both know you won’t.
That’s true of Rix as well, and you’re probably starting to understand why the prices at some of these places are so cheap.

Rix – Elevated Bar Food
Also, you’re realizing what a deal Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is. Please don’t tell Art Smith.
The most expensive entree at Rix is a sirloin steak that costs $32.

Rix Sports Bar – Watch the Big Game
Everything else is $25 or less, including an extremely affordable Fish & Chips entree for $24.
When you order here, Disney rewards you by selling a super expensive dessert that’s worth the money.

Rix at Coronado Springs Resort
You can splurge with $16 Fried Oreos and never feel guilty about it since you’re walking so much at the parks.
So, Rix works in a pinch when you’re a sports-obsessed person like me and want to watch a big game. Personally, I just stream it on my phone and eat somewhere better.
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

Have you ever thought about the strange nature of pizza pricing?
Everyone loves pizza, and it’s one of the most popular entrees on the planet.

Whenever you’re in a group setting or trying to decide on dinner with a loved one, you suggest pizza and everyone readily agrees.
Based on this fact, you’d expect pizza to be expensive, but it’s really not.

All the franchise pizza joints advertise heavily, but they still make money while selling cheap entrees.
Via Napoli serves a high-end version of pizza, but you can still get an individual pie for $22-$25.

You can order a large for your party for $42, and that’s not even the best value on the menu.
Via Napoli sells a Half Meter Pizza for $57-$58.

Photo: Disney
You and up to four of your friends – five if children are in the party – can share this monstrosity.
Via Napoli serves some of the tastiest cheese I’ve ever tried, but that Half Meter Pizza averages out to less than $15 per person.

Disney
The moral of the story is that you should plan to eat at Via Napoli during every Disney vacation.
