Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ Takes Home Three Annie Awards
While Win or Lose was not the streaming sensation that many had hoped for, Pixar’s first original series was nonetheless a creative triumph.
After numerous delays, the series finally landed on Disney+ last February, garnering strong reviews from critics and fans alike.

In the series, audiences are introduced to the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team, and the events leading up to their championship game. Each episode is told from the perspective of a different player or parent, allowing viewers to see the events through their eyes.

“The series reveals what it actually feels like to be in the shoes of each character — the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, even a lovesick umpire — with incredibly funny, very emotional and uniquely animated perspectives,” Pixar teased.
Disney’s Big Winner
In a surprising turn of events, Win or Lose turned out to be Disney’s big winner at the 53rd annual Annie Awards on Saturday night.

While both Elio and Zootopia 2 were shut out by Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters in most of the film categories, Win or Lose managed to rack up three awards.
The Pixar original series won Best Character Animation – TV/Media, Best Music – TV/Media, and Best TV/Media Limited Series.

Needless to say, it was an exciting night for the series’ creative team.
Pixar Is Done With Streaming Series
While Win or Lose was a critical darling, it will likely be the last Pixar streaming series that we see for a while.

As Pixar’s theatrical releases have delivered mixed box-office results, the studio has made it clear that it wants to keep its focus on the big screen.

Nevertheless, should Pixar set its sights on streaming again, Win or Lose has proven that the studio can be successful.
