PHOTOS: Big Top Souvenirs Refurbishment Begins in Storybook Circus
When we look back at the year 2026, it will largely be remembered as a time of transition for the Magic Kingdom.
Over the course of the year, Disney has numerous large-scale projects planned for their flagship park, including the construction of Piston Peak and Disney Villains land, the ongoing refurbishments of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and whatever mystery project is materializing over at the Haunted Mansion.

Additionally, however, we have seen numerous smaller refurbishments take place.
The Storybook Circus Refurbishments
For example, Disney has been hard at work renovating Storybook Circus.

Last October, Disney filed refurbishment permits for Pete’s Silly Sideshow and Big Top Souvenirs.
Subsequently, we saw Pete’s Silly Sideshow close for renovations.

Now, it is Big Top Souvenirs’ turn.
Big Top Souvenirs Has Closed For Refurbishment
A new update to the Walt Disney World website has revealed that Big Top Souvenirs has officially closed for refurbishment and will reopen late this year.

When we visited Storybook Circus today, we noticed that large construction walls now surround the tent.

The wall is covered in circus-themed signs featuring Timothy Mouse!

Here is another look at the walls.

As you can see, they are expansive.
The entrance to Big Top Souvenirs is very clearly blocked off, though the marquee emerges from above the walls.

Here is another angle.

Moving over to Pete’s Silly Sideshow, the construction walls continue.

Now, the entire west side of the land is blocked off.

As for the tent itself, we could see that the structure’s top has been removed.
Wiring is now clearly visible.

Here is one last look.
