Disney Has Filed Another Interesting Permit For Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
While many Muppet fans are still mourning the loss of Muppet*Vision 3D, it won’t be long until Jim Henson’s iconic troupe has a new home at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Later this year, Kermit, Scooter, and the Electric Mayhem will set up shop on Sunset Boulevard when Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets opens.

Originally announced last year, the new version of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster will trade in Aerosmith for Jim Henson’s motley crew of Muppets.

The new attraction will invite guests to race through Hollywood alongside the Electric Mayhem, helping Scooter convince the band to stop recording and make it to their concert on time.
The Transformation Has Already Begun
While guests still have until March 2 to experience Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, work on the attraction’s Muppets overlay is already underway.

Earlier, we also reported that the attraction’s iconic preshow had closed, marking the first visible step in the transformation. Now, we are back with another update!
A New Permit
Walt Disney World has filed a new Notice of Commencement for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.

The document calls for “general construction” and assigns the work to Coastal Steel Inc.
If that name sounds familiar, it should!
Coastal Steel is a frequent Disney contractor that specializes in structural steel fabrication and installation.

Previously, Disney has used Coastal Steel for Test Track 3.0. The company is also working on the current refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

While the permit does not provide any additional details, it once again highlights the scope of Disney’s plans for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster.
I, for one, can’t wait!
