Gina Carano’s Comeback Tour Continues With Ronda Rousey MMA Match
Months after settling her discrimination lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm, Gina Carano is getting back into the octagon.
It has been a strange couple of years for Carano, who once looked poised to become the next big Star Wars star.

After making a controversial post on social media, however, Carano was fired by Lucasfilm.
The Lawsuit
Subsequently, The Mandalorian star filed a First Amendment lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm, arguing that she was unjustly fired for voicing her political opinions on social media.

Last August, Carano and Disney reached a settlement that seemed to largely be in the actress’s favor.
Following the end of the lawsuit, a Disney spokesperson appeared to indicate that Carano could be included in the studio’s future productions.

“We have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect,” the spokesperson said.
Since settling her lawsuit with Disney, Carano has found new work in Hollywood. Now, however, she is returning to her MMA roots.

Taking place on May 16 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the fight will pit two of the biggest stars in MMA history against each other.
“Ronda came to me and said there is only one person she would make a comeback for, and it has been her dream to make this fight happen between us,” Carano said.

“She thanked me for opening up doors for her in her career and was respectful in asking for this fight to happen. This is an honor. I believe I will walk out of this fight with the win, and I anticipate it will not come easy, which I welcome. This is as much for Ronda and me as it is for the fans and mixed martial arts community. What a time to be alive.”
