Allergy Options Have Been Removed From Disney Dining Reservations
by Justin Hermes · February 9, 2026
If you’re a frequent Disney Parks visitor, you already know how indispensable the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps have become for planning and managing your vacation.
For guests visiting Walt Disney World, My Disney Experience allows you to secure your Lightning Lane passes, manage your tickets, check into your hotel room, mobile order food, and more. The Disneyland app does the same for Disneyland visitors!

It is also the best way to secure your Disney dining reservation.
As the Walt Disney World and Disneyland apps have become so indispensable to a vacation, it is important to stay up to date on their features.

With that in mind, I want to share a new change to the Disney dining reservation system.
The Dietary Restriction Selections Have Been Removed From Dining Reservations
Guests booking their Disney dining reservation on the Walt Disney World or Disneyland app no longer have the option to select their allergies.

For years, guests have had the option of specifying their allergy when booking a dining reservation in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps or on the Disney website.
Traditionally, the options to choose from have included egg, fish, milk, shellfish, sesame, soy, tree nut, wheat/gluten, and other.
Now, however, when clicking the “edit” button under the dietary requests section of a Disney dining reservation, users are brought to a page that explains Disney’s allergy guidelines.

“Guests must notify their server about any allergy-friendly requests. While we take steps to help mitigate cross-contact, we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of allergens. Our allergy-friendly recipes may use highly refined oils, such as soybean oil, and/or ingredients that are processed in facilities that also process allergens,” it reads.

“It is ultimately our Guests’ discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs. For more information about allergy-friendly requests at Disney-owned and -operated locations, please ask to speak with our special diets trained personnel upon arrival at the location.”

The Walt Disney World website features the same notice.
Allergen-Friendly Accommodations Remain
While it is somewhat strange that Disney has removed the dietary restriction options from dining reservations, guests have always had to confirm their allergies with their server.

So, while the reservation itself has less information than it once did, the process of accommodating guests with dietary restrictions remains the same.

As always, anyone with a restrictive diet is encouraged to contact Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com or Special.Diets@Disneyland.com before their visit.
