A Red Flag Warning Has Been Issued For Disney World
If you have been following along here at MickeyBlog over the past several weeks, you know that the weather at Walt Disney World has been unpredictable.
For much of 2026, it has been unusually cold at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
While there is no reason for the weather to derail your Disney vacation, it can lead to operational changes.
For example, Typhoon Lagoon has been closed on and off for the last month.

Now, Walt Disney World is facing a different kind of weather alert.
A Red Flag Warning Has Been Issued For Walt Disney World
Early this morning, the National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida, issued a Fire Weather Warning for Central Florida.
The Red Flag Warning will remain in effect through 6 PM this evening for Volusia, Lake, Orange, Seminole, Brevard, Osceola, Okeechobee, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties.

For those who may not know, a Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or are expected to occur shortly.
Typically, the warning is issued when there is a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures.
Today, Walt Disney World is expecting winds of 15 to 25 mph and humidity between 30 and 35 percent.

With humidity between 25 and 35 percent and winds around 15 mph, conditions merit a Red Flag Warning.
There Are Now Operational Changes
While Walt Disney World will remain under a Red Flag Warning for the rest of the day, the weather has not impacted resort operations so far.
However, as outdoor burning is discouraged, guests staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground should refrain from starting campfires.
Additionally, Disney may change its fireworks plans. At this time, nothing has been officially announced.
