PHOTOS: The DinoLand, U.S.A. Arch Has Been Demolished as Construction Continues
The countdown to extinction finally hit zero for DinoLand, U.S.A., earlier this month, when DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus officially closed.
After 28 years of operation, Animal Kingdom’s prehistoric land finally went extinct, ending a tiered closure that began over a year ago.

As Disney begins to look ahead to the opening of Pueblo Esperanza and the rest of Tropical Americas, it is wasting no time kicking construction into gear.
Just one day after DinoLand closed, we saw that the area’s entrance was covered in scrim.

Now, we are back with another update.
More Construction Walls Have Arrived
When visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning, we noticed that the former DinoLand, U.S.A. archway has been demolished.

Here is what it looked like earlier this week.

Additionally, we could see that new construction walls have been erected near the former DinoLand, U.S.A. entrance.

As previously noted, construction has been underway on the former site of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama for over a year.

Last fall, work began on the former Boneyard section of the land.

The new walls feature construction quotes and concept art for the upcoming land.
Here is another look.

Further back into the land, we could see that significant progress has been made on the Encanto attraction show building.

Heavy machinery, including cranes, is still in place.

Here is another look.

If you look closely, you can see that the former Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures building is still standing.

This structure will be repurposed for Tropical Americas.
With Pueblo Esperanza set to welcome its first guests in 2027, Disney still has plenty of construction ahead.

Nevertheless, it is good to see that progress has continued.
Clearly, a new chapter in Animal Kingdom history will soon unfold before our eyes.
