New Map Design Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Following DinoLand’s Closure
Well, it’s the update I think we were all expecting!
Upon arriving at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning, our MickeyBlog explorers were unsurprised to see that a brand-new paper guidemap has debuted in the parks, showing some pretty key updates we’re sure guests won’t want to miss.
We grabbed a copy to share some snaps with you — so keep reading, and let’s go see what’s new!

A New Month at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
So, let’s just cut right to the chase. We’re sure you’ve all heard the news already, that yesterday was the final day of operations at DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

DinoLand
Yes, on February 1st, 2026, guests bid a fond, final farewell to the last of the prehistoric section of the park, including the DINOSAUR attraction and Restaurantosaurus dining location.
We’ve known it was coming for a while, but it still hurts to see it go!

So now, of course, it was only expected that Disney’s Animal Kingdom would get an all-new guidemap, reflecting the recent change to the park’s offerings.
And here’s the new map design now, available for guests to grab at the park’s main entrance!

The front of the colorful map features a pair of guests exploring Pandora — The World of Avatar, while all the usual information about dining plans, transportation services, park rules, amenities, and more is listed clearly on the back of the flyer.

Flipping it around, we can see the updated list of all the park’s offerings, including that detailed, illustrated map we all know and love.

You know what I’m going to say next, though, right?
Look a bit closer at that map!

Yep, DinoLand U.S.A has officially been removed from the map, leaving the “Future Home of Tropical Americas” sitting in its place.
It’s very exciting, and “wild” to see at the same time!

This morning, we already noticed that the same change had already happened on the park’s online map, visible on the Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app.
Seeing it here on paper feels so much more final!

So, what do you think about this update? If you’re still mourning the loss of DinoLand, be sure to check out our “goodbye” to the land in this article here.
Otherwise, we hope you’ll enjoy following along with us as we eagerly await the opening of Tropical Americas, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on the area as construction pushes on soon!
