Extreme Cold Warning for Central Florida and Disney World
Disney World and Central Florida are typically known for their sunny skies and warm weather… But recently we have been experiencing a chill that has lasted longer than in previous years.
January and February typically have colder weather, but it usually lasts only a few days. These cold temperatures and wind gusts are definitely out of the norm, and here’s what you need to know.
Extreme Cold Warning and Freeze Warning

Disney
Central Florida is under an Extreme Cold Warning and Freeze Warning from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon.
Guests can expect wind chills as low as 7–9 degrees and hard-freeze temperatures near 20–22 degrees in the Orlando area.

Northwest winds of 20–30 mph with gusts up to 40–50 mph will make it feel even colder!
For Walt Disney World guests, this means bundling up, putting on warm layers, and enjoying hot cocoa or coffee.
Some outdoor rides may experience delayed openings or temporary pauses if temperatures or wind gusts fall below operational thresholds.

Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is already closed during this cold snap.
If you’re heading to the parks, plan for layers, hats, and gloves, schedule more indoor attractions and shows, and be prepared for early mornings and late nights when it can feel cold (by Florida standards).
