Why You SHOULD Bring Your Baby to Disney World
For years, people have told me, “Don’t take kids to Disney until they can remember it”. I do understand why.
Walt Disney World vacations aren’t cheap. And managing logistics when traveling with children isn’t easy. You pack more, have to rent equipment, and somehow have to maintain the baby’s schedule on the road.
There’s just more preparation for littles!

Despite these hurdles, I say it’s worth the effort to bring babies to Disney. Recently, I took my one-year-old on his first trip. While it was different, the magic was still intact – maybe even more so.
Let’s put it this way: Disney World was made for guests of ALL ages. Disney expects you to bring infants, and they’re eager to accommodate you.

Plus, it’s hard to resist strolling your little one down Main Street U.S.A. for the first time. Certain core memory making is irreplaceable.
Let me share the top reasons you should bring the littlest mouseketeers.

Reason #1: They’re Free
The most obvious reason to bring small children to Disney World is that they’re free. (Well, they’re free if they’re 3 and under.)
This gives you years to take this “bonus” trip! As you know, this will save hundreds of dollars.

Little ones are also free for special ticketed events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
With the money I saved on tickets, I could splurge on a larger hotel room and fancier meals. (Speaking of, kids practically eat for free since they can eat off your plate for nothing.)

The savings were really too good to be true.
Reason #2: They Can Ride More Than You Think
My husband and I took a Disney Babymoon and honestly, expectant mothers and babies can ride almost the same things. Disney has an extensive selection of no height restriction attractions, including:

With so many baby-friendly experiences, you won’t be missing the fun. And if you’re really craving a thrill ride, you can utilize Disney’s Rider Swap System.
Reason #3: They Make Character Meals Unforgettable
Character meals are always magical, but there’s something about your child’s first breakfast with Mickey. After doing a test run with Santa at home, I knew my one-year-old was ready for his first one.
It was a pixie-dusted experience. He didn’t know who Mickey was yet, but he loved grabbing his nose (and Donald’s bill)!

To my delight, he wasn’t afraid of characters, but was more engaged than he would’ve been as a newborn. I have precious photos I’ll treasure forever.
These meals were worth every penny. 10/10 recommended for tiny mouseketeers.

Reason #4: Disney World is a Sensory Wonderland
Your baby’s stimulation threshold will vary, but generally, most babies love color, lights, and sound.
Disney World is a treasure trove of baby-pleasing sights and sounds.

Main Street U.S.A.
From the music to the glittering lights to flowers blooming all year long, many babies just love being strolled around theme parks.
I can say with confidence that my son was never bored. And if I lived in Orlando, I’d be strolling him through Fantasyland instead of the mall.

Your baby won’t remember specifics, but they’ll still be enchanted the day of.
Reason #5: Memories for Parents are Priceless
It’s true, your baby won’t remember the trip. But that’s okay.
Let me repeat that: It’s okay if your kids don’t remember their first trip. It’s okay if you take it to make memories as a parent.

Many Disney fans have spent lifetimes humming the opening theme from Inside Out (2015) while imagining future Orlando trips. It’s okay if you can’t wait.
The memories, the photos, and the experiences you’ll have introducing your tiny human to your favorite place are truly magical. This is your permission to go for it.
