Prosperity Bao & Buns at DCA’s Lunar New Year Festival Left Us Wanting More
We’re here at Disney California Adventure (DCA), checking out everything the Lunar New Year festival has to offer!

This year’s celebration honors the Year of the Horse, with Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean-inspired cuisine, along with festive entertainment, activities, merchandise, and more.
We’ve done quite a bit in just the first day–we’ve rubbed shoulders with a red panda, satisfied our sweet tooth with a themed treat, and watched a popular entertainment offering. But we have one thing left to do before we leave the park–let’s go!

We’re here at the Prosperity Bao & Buns marketplace, looking for our next bite(s)!

Here, they’re offering the following baos:
- Char Siu BBQ Pork Bao: with pickled red onions and jalapeño
- Kung Pao Bao: with plant-based chicken, toasted peanuts, and scallions

We started with the Kung Pao Bao, which costs $9. We love the idea of a plant-based bao for vegetarian and vegan guests, but this wasn’t carried out the way we would’ve hoped. It was a little dry and needed more sauce and spice.
To be fair, it’s the first day of the festival–there’s certainly time to grow and improve!

The Char Siu Pork Bao costs $9.25 and has tender pork, which pairs perfectly with the sweet char siu marinade.
If we had to choose only one bao during our next visit, it’s this one!
