When Should You Visit Disney World in 2026?
We haven’t just entered a new year by now.
We’re more than halfway through January 2026, which means we’re 5 percent of the way done with the year.

Disney
So, those of you who haven’t made vacation plans yet need to get serious.
When should you visit Walt Disney World in 2026?
Next Week

You may think I’m joking, but I assure you I’m not.
If my health currently allowed it, I’d grab my keys and head to the airport next week.

2026 Festival of the Arts
The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is now under way.
You likely followed along with MickeyBlog last Friday as our reporters displayed the highlights.

2025 Festival of the Arts
This festival has soared in popularity since its 2017 inception, and the reasons why are obvious.
Many of Disney’s cast members are artists who get to show off their various skills during this exhibition.

You can watch countless live performances, including the wildly popular DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series.
Historically, January tied for the least popular month.

While that’s no longer the case, it’s still less crowded than most of the year.
Most importantly, you’ll be in Central Florida in January rather than wherever you are. The Sunshine State is better.
Valentine’s Day Weekend

DIsney
The 2026 calendar configuration affords you the rare opportunity to maximize a mid-February visit.
You can surprise your partner with a romantic Disney World vacation and then stretch it an extra day since Presidents’ Day occurs 48 hours later.

As a pro tip, those of you traveling with just one other person should consider one of the Duo Studios at some Disney resorts.
These rooms provide a rare level of intimacy, which is ideal when you ask someone to be your Valentine.
Spring Break 2026

Photo: Disney
I’ve had many “Who’s on First” conversations with MickeyTravels agents since I’ve been at MickeyBlog.
Let’s just say that what I think are the dates for Spring Break usually fly in the face of other opinions.

Photo: Disney
What I’ll tell you is that my local system will celebrate Spring Break the week of March 9th.
So, that’s the time when parents of school-aged children will have the easiest time visiting Disney World before the school year ends.

Photo: Disney
Your school system’s chosen Spring Break week will determine when you can go.
Whenever that’s possible, you still wind up at Disney, so be happy about that!
Note that Easter falls on April 5th, so it’s that much better if you can combine Spring Break with a holiday visit.
May

Disney
You’ll pay more for a visit during Spring Break and Easter season, as Disney employs a tiered pricing system.
For those of you who aren’t tethered to the school calendar, early May proves an ideal time to visit.

Disney
For the first time in ages, I’m actually recommending that people wait until Memorial Day week, though.
Ordinarily, I’d feel like I was thrusting you into unnecessary holiday crowds by doing that; however, 2026 is a bit different because you’ll experience two new attractions that week.

Photo: Disney
On May 22nd, Disney will unveil the new mission on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Did I mention that this mission stars the Mandalorian and Grogu? Yeah, it’s a big deal.

Don’t miss the timing here, either.
The movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu debuts in theaters that day, making this a timely ride addition.

Then, on May 25th, Soarin’ Across America will debut.
It’s a limited-time patriotic ride overlay celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Typically, Disney offers sneak previews for annual passholders and Disney Vacation Club members.
Therefore, those of you visiting in early May could feasibly experience one of them early.

I wouldn’t count on that, so I’m recommending a visit during Memorial Day week this year.
Summer Is for Cool Kids and Bluey Fans

Disney
The new experiences keep coming throughout 2026. A couple of new/returning ones arrive just in time for a June vacation.
That’s music to the ears of parents of school-aged children, as this is the other convenient time for you to visit on the 2026 calendar.
If that statement applies to you, I’ve got fantastic news.

Disney
A change in tourist behavior works in your favor.
The summer heat has chased away many casual tourists, which is patently absurd.

Disney
Disney World hosts countless indoor attractions, more than you could possibly experience during a one-week vacation.
So, the weather should never be a deterrent.

Meanwhile, Disney is loading up this summer with exciting activities, including the welcome return of Cool Kids’ Summer.
This multi-park party became an overnight sensation in 2025, with fans begging for its return.

Thankfully, the company listened, which means you can expect more dance parties, interactive games, and character greetings.
Somehow, that’s only the second most exciting news for parents.

Bluey and Bingo will arrive at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer.
For children, that’s the equivalent of meeting the Pope and Taylor Swift on the same day.

Photo: Disney
I don’t need to tell you how much your kids adore those puppies, so the real trick during a summer visit will be persuading your children to leave Bluey’s company to do other stuff at the parks.
This seems like a good time to mention that ticket pricing lists many weeks this summer as the off season.
September

Disney
I always say that Disney doesn’t have a true off season.
The closest thing to it is the month of September for the reasons I’ve indicated earlier in the article.

Disney
The school year begins, preventing families with school-aged children from vacationing at Disney.
That means everyone else will enjoy relatively empty parks.

Best of all, the tickets are often the cheapest on the entire annual calendar during the month of September.
Halloween Season

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom
I’m actually blurring the timelines a bit, as Halloween begins when Disney says so.
The parks sometimes decorate for the holiday as early as late July.

Then, the beloved Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party starts in August.
You’ll have more than 30 opportunities to attend this after hours ticketed event. It’s a no brainer that you go.

Disney
I will die on the hill that this is the best thing Disney does all year.
I prefer Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Halloween, but I’ll warn you right now that tickets for this date typically sell out first.

Anyone who attends to visit on October 31st should be ready to buy the moment party tickets go on sale.
Early November

Disney fans know a secret.
As soon as the Halloween party ends, Christmas holiday decorations go live at the various parks and resorts.

The Christmas trees usually take a few days to go live at all the parks, but that’s part of the fun.
You can spend the first half of November watching Disney set up for the holiday season.

Disney’s POP Century Resort Holiday Decor
Notably, the tickets aren’t as expensive at this point, either.
By the middle of November, the holiday season officially begins, which means some of your favorite activities are available.

Disney
By Thanksgiving week, you can attend EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays isn’t far behind.
Early December

I’m going to give you some of the best advice I possibly can.
The time to visit Disney World isn’t Christmas week.

You’ll experience many of the same activities.
I just documented this last month, but in case you missed it, early December crowds are dramatically lower than at the end of the month.

I am not joking when I say that you will wait twice as long for the same attraction, and you’ll pay more to boot.
So, if possible, save yourself some time and money by visiting Disney World in early December instead.
Christmas Week

Oh, who am I kidding? Everyone wants to spend the holidays at Disney.
That’s why the parks often sell out during Christmas week.

When you visit at this time of year, you’ll gain an unexpected bonus.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starts in early November as does Disney Jollywood Nights.

However, some of the paid activities from the Very Merry party are free during Christmas week.
That’s Disney’s thoughtful Christmas present to you, and it’s an incredible extra for a Christmas week vacation.
