For Your Consideration: ‘Zootopia 2’ and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Lead Disney’s Oscar Nominees
The nominees for the 98th Academy Awards were officially announced this morning, and once again, Walt Disney Studios is well represented.
This year’s Oscars will be held on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
With the ceremony set to air on ABC and stream on Hulu, Disney is undoubtedly hoping for another big night.

So, without further ado, here are the Disney Academy Award nominees.
‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’
While there had been some hope that Avatar: Fire and Water might sneak into the Best Picture category, that ultimately did not happen.

Instead, Disney found itself shut out of the Academy Awards’ most prestigious prize.

Nevertheless, James Cameron’s third Avatar film did pick up nominations in the Best Costume Design and Best Visual Effects categories.
Best Animated Feature Nominees
Once again, Disney dominated in the Best Animated Feature category, with Zootopia 2 and Elio both earning nominations.

After becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood animated film of all time, Zootopia 2 appears to have an inside track to take home the award.

Elio, on the other hand, was a box office disaster. Disney is likely thrilled that the film has been nominated.

The Losers
Leading up to the Academy Award nominations announcement, there had been some hope that Jeremy Allen White would snag a nod for his role in Bruce Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.

Also shut out this year was Marvel Studios, which failed to secure any design nominations for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, despite the film’s widely praised aesthetic.
