Pixar Reveals Its 40th Anniversary Logo
On February 3, 1986, the world of animation changed forever when Pixar Animation Studios was founded.
Initially focused on selling high-end computers and software, Pixar began creating short films to showcase its groundbreaking technology.

Through productions such as Luxo Jr., Red’s Dream, and Tin Toy, Pixar proved that computer-generated animation could tell stories filled with heart.
Partnership With Disney and ‘Toy Story’
In 1991, the burgeoning studio reached a deal with The Walt Disney Company to create a feature-length animated film.

That partnership paid off in 1995, when Toy Story hit theaters, taking the animation world by storm and changing the movie industry forever.
Over the past 40 years, Pixar has created some of the most beloved films ever produced.

Early hits included A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles.

In 2006, the animation studio was acquired by Disney, finally and permanently uniting two of the biggest names in animation history.
The Hits Keep Coming
After joining forces with Disney, Pixar continued to churn out hit feature films, including Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E, and Up.

40th Anniversary Logo
Now, as the studio prepares to return to theaters with Hoppers, its 30th feature film, Pixar has unveiled its 40th anniversary logo.
As first shared by DTVA News on X, the new logo draws inspiration from the iconic Pixar Ball that first appeared in Luxo Jr. all those years ago.

With Pixar celebrating such a major milestone this year, there will be plenty of opportunities to look back.
