Mattel’s First Indoor Water Park Will Be Built Just 10 Miles From Disney World
While Orlando is already world-renowned for its entertainment offerings and theme parks, the city is about to get a new infusion of fun.
Earlier this afternoon, Mattel announced that its first indoor water park will be located in Central Florida, just 10 minutes away from Walt Disney World.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterpark will be constructed on an 11-acre lot off Vineland Road.
What to Expect From Mattel’s New Park
When the new water park opens, visitors will be able to enjoy wave pools, water slides, and lazy rivers themed after Mattel’s iconic brands.
These will include Barbie and Hot Wheels.

Mattel announced last November that it plans to build five Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks in total. So far, Orlando is the only location that has been revealed.

“Mattel has an incredible history of board games and Mattel toys and games, and so being able to look at things like Uno and think outside the box. What if I were to design a water slide that was around Uno? What elements would I include that feel like you’re playing the game?” Josh Martin, president and creative director of Martin Aquatic, told the Orlando Sentinel.
While Mattel has not announced when the Orlando water park will open, the company has revealed that the attraction will feature a retractable roof to account for Florida’s unpredictable weather.

Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the water park soon!
