Florida Man Shoots at Uber Driver After Requesting Ride From Disney World Staff Parking Lot
A Florida man is in custody after police say he fired multiple shots at a fleeing Uber driver earlier this month.
The harrowing incident occurred on January 1, just before 9:30 p.m., when Alexis Encarnacion-Rosado ordered an Uber from a Walt Disney World staff parking lot.
According to an affidavit, Encarnacion-Rosado asked the Uber driver to stop at a Denny’s on the way to his final destination.

The driver agreed and waited more than 20 minutes for the defendant to get his food.
The Incident
When the Uber driver suggested that Encarnacion-Rosado increase his tip to compensate him for the wait, the defendant allegedly became enraged and began cursing at the driver. He then spat in the driver’s face.

The unnamed victim subsequently ended the Uber ride, and Encarnacion-Rosado “angrily exited the vehicle.”
At that point, the driver began to pull away when he saw the defendant reach into his backpack. Moments later, he heard several loud “pops” and felt his car being struck by bullets.
The Aftermath
After the incident, police found several .40-caliber shell casings near the scene and noted bullet holes in the victim’s car.
Broward County Police
Encarnacion-Rosado, a convicted felon who was on probation in Polk County at the time, was later arrested and charged with numerous felonies, including shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and battery.
He was also charged with discharging a firearm in public and criminal mischief.

It should be noted that there has been no confirmation that Encarnacion-Rosado was a Disney employee, although the Uber request was made from an employee parking lot.
