Disney Is Producing a French Remake of ‘The Last Man on Earth’
Disney+ has signed on for a French remake of The Last Man on Earth, which will see Will Forte’s character played by French star Artus.
For those who may not know, the series was a post-apocalyptic comedy that aired on Fox from 2015-2018.
Created and starring Forte, the series made the SNL alum a household name.

“Almost two years after a virus wiped out most of the human race, Phil Miller only wishes for some company, but soon gets more than he bargained for when that company shows up in the form of other survivors,” the show’s synopsis reads.
A Fox Hit
In addition to Forte, The Last Man on Earth starred Kristen Schaal, January Jones, Mel Rodriguez, Cleopatra Coleman, and Mary Steenburgen.

The series was a critical and ratings hit for Fox, earning numerous Emmy nominations.
A French Remake
The French remake of The Last Man on Earth will star French stand-up comedian Artus.

The series will be produced by 20th Century Studios and premiere this year on Disney+.
“After traveling across the country, Adam must face the facts: he is the last man on Earth. Free from everything, he enjoys the advantages of solitude… but remains desperately alone. However, he still holds out hope that another survivor exists. And perhaps even a female survivor,” the remake’s synopsis reads.
