What Will Disney Be Like in June 2026?
For many families, school and work schedules determine when we vacation.
Since work typically slows during the summer, companies encourage you to spend your PTO then.

Similarly, parents of school-aged children don’t need to coordinate schedules as much in the summer.
Long story short, you can get to Walt Disney World much easier at this time of your year.

So, what will Disney be like in June 2026? The answers are sunny, fresh, and new. I’ll explain.
About Disney World in June

What’s happening at Walt Disney World in June? Well, you may not believe me even if I tell you.
This summer is shaping up to be one of the busiest ever at the parks, and that’s not hyperbole.

For starters, Cool Kids’ Summer will return in 2026, and Disney is promising even more activities.
As if that weren’t enough, the parks will feature several new and updated attractions.

Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After
Test Track 3.0, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, and The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure debuted in 2025.
Now, Disney is supplementing them with Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Frozen Ever After.

Both attractions will start the year undergoing refurbishment to make them better than ever.
Speaking of which, Disney built an entirely new track for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

While we’re on the subject of roller coasters, a “new” one may be open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will debut at some point this summer.

Oh, and did I mention that Bluey will entertain guests at Conservation Station?
Yes, families can head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and interact with Bluey and her family!

All this is on top of the other amazing stuff happening at the parks such as the free water park offer.
Guests staying at official Disney resorts this summer can spend their first day at a water park for free!

This seems like a good time to mention that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach will both be open.
Disney is really pulling out all the stops to make the summer of 2026 unforgettable.
Let’s Talk about the Weather

So, you’ve probably heard that the summer can be intense in Orlando. That’s true.
During the 2020s, Central Florida has experienced some unusually lengthy heat spells.

Thankfully, the worst typically occurs in July, but there’s a hidden bonus to this change.
The summer has evolved into a kind of off-season at Disney World. Historically, this was the busiest time of the year. Nowadays, the ticket prices tell the story.
Disney sells tiered ticket prices, with several deals available during the summer months.

Magic Kingdom
Presuming you don’t mind the risk of some hot weather, you save a bit of money on your vacation.
Parents with school-aged children don’t have much choice anyway, making the lower ticket prices a nice surprise.

The downside is that the average high temperature is 89 degrees, which, while hot, is tolerable.
You’ll really only notice hot weather when it’s in the upper 90s, which is why July is more of a problem.

Generally, the high temperature in Orlando never passes 94 degrees. Be thankful for that.
In terms of low temperatures, the average is 75 degrees, but it rarely falls under 70 degrees.

Stormy Weather in Magic Kingdom
You can enjoy unforgettable summer nights in perfectly comfortable weather at the parks.
You may worry about rain, though. Well, on that front, there’s good news and bad news.

Stormy Day
What’s the bad news? You have as much as a 65 percent chance of rain on a June day in Orlando.
What’s the good news? You WANT it to rain some during your trip.

Clouds and showers lower the temperature! As long as you head indoors or bring an umbrella, rain is your friend.
For that reason, I’m happy to tell you that it’s at least 50/50 you’ll get rain during a park visit.
What’s Great about Disney in June?

Test Track Crowds
Disney has always used Memorial Day Weekend as an inflection point.
Many of the park’s newest attractions and amenities arrive by the end of May.

So, people showing up in June enjoy the best of both worlds.
You get all these lovely new experiences, but the crowds have died down a bit after their opening weeks.

Even better, Cool Kids’ Summer will return, and Disney cheekily changed the spelling.
Last year, it was just Cool Kid Summer. Now, every kid gets to play, not just the one.

I’m being a bit facetious, but there’s some truth to the intent of that change.
Disney is adding even more surprise character greetings, dance parties, and interactive entertainment.

The idea is for parents to know that when they’re at Disney, their kids will have a blast.
However, Disney is setting up some entertainment that will do most of the work for moms and dads.

Disney
You just take the kid to the event. Then, you can settle back, relax, and enjoy some Dole Whip.
Meanwhile, your kids will be dancing and playing games with their favorite Disney characters.

Disney
Speaking of which, did I mention that Bluey will host some activities, too?
What more could any parent possibly need? Just go to Conservation Station, and you’re instantly a vacation hero!
What Can You Do in Orlando in June?

Photo: Universal
In case you haven’t heard, there’s new competition in Orlando.
Universal Epic Universe opened to much acclaim in May 2025.

By June 2026, the presumption is that the crowds will have died a bit, which should be music to your ears.
While Epic Universe is Universal’s most Disney-like park, it’s got one glaring issue.

Photo: Universal
The wait times can get pretty ridiculous for some of the most popular rides.
Presumably, after a year, that behavior will slow down a bit, making a park visit better.

Photo: Universal
I’ll warn you that Epic Universe primarily consists of outdoor attractions, though.
So, while you absolutely want to visit while you’re in Orlando, please be aware of that fact.

A visit to this park is nowhere near as convenient as at Disney, but it’s also a nice change of pace.
In terms of other activities, the Orlando Magic could feasibly be playing deep into the playoffs by then.

Meanwhile, Orlando City should host a few matches, and some MLB games are an option.
The Brightline high-speed rail service easily connects you to Miami, home of the Marlins.

Fans of the theater can watch Six on some dates in June, and you’ll always find good concerts in Central Florida.
In short, as long as you’re willing to leave the Disney Bubble, you’ll find plenty to do.
Final Thoughts

Disney
For families, when it comes to Disney vacations, the 2020s have played right into your hands.
The weather is nice enough to accommodate your needs, while attendance has declined some.

Disney
For this reason, Disney has introduced stellar new amenities to make every vacation even better.
In combination with some readily available ticket deals, it’s a wonderful time to visit.
