WATCH: Mabel Leads the Animal Kingdom in Pixar’s New ‘Hoppers’ Teaser
After last year’s disastrous release of Elio, which would eventually become the lowest-grossing Pixar movie of all time, the studio is gearing up to return to theaters in March with Hoppers.
The latest Pixar original movie tells the story of a young girl named Mabel, who transfers her mind into a robotic beaver, allowing her to communicate with animals.

“What if you could talk to animals and understand what they’re saying? In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film ‘Hoppers,’ scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals,” the film’s synopsis reads.

“The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.”
A New Preview Has Arrived
With less than two months to go until Hoppers hits theaters, Pixar released a special sneak peek of the film last night.

In the clip, Mabel is introduced to the technology that will allow her to communicate with animals.
“You created a fake animal, which makes the other animals think you’re an animal?” Mable asks. “This is like Avatar!”

The rest of the clip sees Mabel, in her beaver form, gaining acceptance into the animal kingdom and eventually leading the wildlife to protect their home from further human land development.
Hoppers
Things quickly get out of hand, however, when the rest of the animals decide to “squish” the humans.
