Ron DeSantis Appoints Two New Members to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District and The Walt Disney Company were in a very public feud that launched two lawsuits and created plenty of bad blood.
After months of back-and-forth over the demise of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, Disney’s loss of autonomy, and last-minute binding agreements, the two sides amicably settled their dispute and vowed to work together.

Since that time, things have seemingly been back to business as usual in Central Florida, with the CFTOD approving Disney’s building plans and improving infrastructure around the resort.
The District’s Board Continues to Change
While Disney and the CFTOD have reached a detente, we have seen continued shakeups on the district’s board.

For those who don’t know, the CFTOD board consists of five members appointed by Florida’s governor and approved by the state senate.
Ron DeSantis Appoints Two New Board Members
Today, Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Matt Ravenscroft and David Woods to the district board.

Ravenscroft is the Executive Vice President and Director of Sunrise Bank in Orlando. He previously served as a Senior Vice President of Old Florida Bank, United Heritage Bank, and Citrus Bank.
Woods, on the other hand, is an attorney at Woods & Woods. His practice covers real estate, wills, trusts, and estates.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
