PHOTOS: Walls Went Up Around Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

If you’ve visited Magic Kingdom recently, you’ve probably noticed the temporary closure of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

The closure is giving Disney the chance to enhance the attraction, with a new show scene, updated ride vehicles, and tweaks to gameplay!

But the updates aren’t limited to just the inside. Let’s check out what’s going on outside the attraction!

…but we’re still able to sneak a peek at the marquee.

Thanks to a recently-filed permit, we know these walls are up to cover the new entrance sign that will debut with the other changes.

Curious about the refurbishment? The updates include a new ride scene, new ride vehicles, handheld blasters, laser aim, and interactive targets.

There will also be a new character–Buddy!

While the attraction doesn’t have a specific reopening date identified, guests can return to Star Command and defeat Zurg this Spring 2026.
