Boat Transportation Has Been Suspended at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Do you have an upcoming reservation at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge?
If so — you lucky thing!
Inspired by the rustic splendor of America’s Great Northwest, this stunning hotel has been at the top of our Walt Disney World resort favorites for a long time. Plus, with so many exciting recreation offerings and unique dining options, you’re bound to have a magical stay!

However, if you are getting ready to visit the lodge over the coming weeks, there is one tiny update we think you should be aware of.
As scheduled refurbishment works continue to blitz through the hotel, some slight changes have been made to the resort’s transportation network – and they’re worth noting down!
Keep reading to learn what’s going on, and what impact it might have on your future stay!

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Dock Closure
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog, you might already be aware that Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been quite the hive of construction efforts recently. Ever since last summer, various work has been undertaken across the resort, all with the intention of refurbishing common areas and continuing to provide a guest experience during their stay.
Back in November, we learned that one of the areas that would be affected was the resort’s boat dock — the main port from which guests are able to sail merrily from the lodge to Magic Kingdom.

Now, upon checking the Walt Disney World construction calendar, we can confirm that the dock has officially closed for this “routine maintenance” beginning today, January 12th.
It will remain closed until January 30th.

Suspended Transportation
Of course, the closure of the dock also unfortunately means that guests will no longer be able to utilize the resort’s boat transportation offering — a factor which is usually a big draw to guests booking this particular hotel.
Therefore, until the end of January, Disney Bus Transportation will be the only service available to guests looking to reach the Magic Kingdom from this resort.

In the meantime, guests can still enjoy the experience of Disney Boat Transportation elsewhere around Walt Disney World, with plenty of routes connecting Disney Springs, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to various resorts.
Especially since hotel reservations aren’t strictly required to ride aboard a boat, it’s a great way to explore some of the other beautiful spots around Disney property, all via the stunning waterways!

Be sure to stay tuned to MickeyBlog as we continue to monitor the ongoing refurbishment works here at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and beyond.
We hope you enjoy your stay!
