January is here, and there are tons of things to do this month around Disney World! The resort will shift festivals, the year’s runDisney events will race into action, and more exciting offerings will hit the resort.
So, to help you ring in the new year at the resort, we’ve compiled a list of everything happening around Walt Disney World this month!
Walt Disney World – January 2026
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
January 7th through January 11th, the resort will host the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend!

runDisney
The marathon weekend is themed after various storybook genres, with a sci-fi 5K hosted by Pluto, a mystery-filled 10K hosted by Chip ‘n Dale, a romantic half-marathon hosted by Donald and Daisy, and a fantastical marathon hosted by Mickey and Minnie.
All events are sold out.

While you can’t join the race if you haven’t already registered, you can visit the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to shop through the merchandise!
(The first day of the expo will use the Virtual Queue system.)

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts
As we bid a fond farewell to EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, EPCOT is preparing to welcome back a creative, colorful festival.
That’s right–EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will return to the park on January 16th and run through February 23rd!
