Kermit Shares a Heartfelt Welcome and Chaos Ensues in the First Trailer For ‘The Muppet Show’ Revival
2026 is already shaping up to be a banner year for Muppet fans, as Jim Henson’s motley crew will return next month for a highly anticipated revival of The Muppet Show.
To coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original show, Kermit and the gang are heading back to Muppet Theater to do what they do best- entertain.

“’The Muppet Show’ pilot is set to reintroduce the beloved characters with a fresh twist. The show will blend classic charm with new comedic sketches. The project aims to capture the heart and humor that made the original a cultural icon,” an early description for the show explained.
The Cast and Crew
The upcoming revival of The Muppet Show will feature Sabrina Carpenter as the special guest star and will see the return of veteran Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel.
Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McTee are executive producing The Muppet Show via Point Grey Pictures.
The First ‘Muppet Show’ Trailer Has Arrived
As we teased yesterday, the first Muppet Show trailer debuted last night during Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Starring Ryan Seacrest.

The clip begins with Kermit reintroducing the iconic show.
“It’s the return of The Muppet Show,” Kermit proudly announces in the clip. “Back on the very stage where it all started and then ended, and maybe starting again depending on how tonight goes.”
The trailer then goes on to show a series of chaotic Muppet events, including a recreation of the show’s iconic opening, Miss Piggy and Sabrina Carpenter complimenting each other, and Fozzie and Seth Rogen talking in the wings.
“It’s always been a dream of mine to be here,” Rogen confesses.
“Got any other dreams?” Fozzie quips.

The Muppet Show revival will debut on ABC and Disney+ on Wednesday, February 4.
