‘Zootopia 2’ Is Now Walt Disney Animation’s Highest-Grossing Film EVER
With Avatar: Fire and Ash has stolen all the headlines since arriving in theaters earlier this month, it is easy to forget that Zootopia 2 is still going strong.
Hitting theaters over the week of Thanksgiving, Zootopia 2 reunites audiences with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, who track the “twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”

With strong word of mouth, Zootopia 2 has been able to keep that momentum going. Over the week of Christmas, it’s fifth in theaters, the film added another $87.8 million to its box office total.
The New King of Disney Animation
As of this writing, the film has now made $1.46 billion globally. That number gives Zootopia 2 the distinction of being Walt Disney Animation’s highest-grossing movie ever, surpassing 2019’s Frozen 2 ($1.45 billion).
