PHOTOS: New New Stained-Glass Windows Revealed at the Grand Floridian’s Garden View Lounge

If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this year, you know that we have been closely following the refurbishment of the Grand Floridian lobby.

The goal of the renovations is to give the Grand Floridian’s central area a refreshed look while preserving the elegant ambiance and Victorian theme that have long defined the resort.

To achieve this, the furniture, staircase, and front desk will be updated with botanical accents and warm, inviting colors, creating an airy, garden-like atmosphere.

When complete, the lobby will feature elegant new carpeting with Victorian-style borders and intricate scrollwork, highlighted by hand-drawn floral patterns inspired by turn-of-the-century botanical illustrations.

Progress on the Project Continues

The last time we checked in on the Floridian lobby refurbishment, the Perch Bar had officially opened.

Now, we are back with another update!

The Garden View Lounge Has Reopened

When we visited Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort today, we were thrilled to see that the walls around the Garden View Lounge had come down, revealing the area’s new stained-glass windows!

As you can see, the windows depict various scenes from nature.

These include birds perched in a tree, a butterfly taking flight, and a robin landing on a branch.

Here is a closer look at the windows.

They are gorgeous!

Overall, the entire Garden View Lounge entrance looks amazing!

The area exudes the Victorian elegance for which the Grand Floridian Resort is known, and the botanical illusions add a charming new motif.

Imagineering really outdid itself with this one!
