Construction of Animal Kingdom’s New ‘Encanto’ Attraction Reaches a Major Milestone

If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the development of the new Encanto attraction coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new dark ride is part of the Tropical Americas expansion that is currently under construction.

Set to open in 2027, the new Encanto attraction will invite guests into Casa Madrigal on the day that Antonio received his gift to communicate with animals.

Inside, riders will find that his room has been transformed into a tropical rainforest.

Construction of the Attraction Continues

The last time we checked in, Jared Bush had revealed that the entire Encanto cast had reunited to record dialogue for the attraction.

“Almost done recording our entire original cast. Being back in the booth with everyone is the absolute best!” he said.

Now, we are back with another update!

A Major Milestone

When visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom today, we were thrilled to see that construction on the Encanto attraction has gone vertical.

The attraction structure can be seen from DinoLand, U.S.A., peeking up above the construction walls.

Here is another look at the project’s status.

While the new Encanto ride is not set to open until 2027, it is clear that Disney is wasting no time.

I, for one, can’t wait to see what Imagineers have in store for fans.

As always, be sure to check back with MickeyBlog. We will continue to update you on all the news coming out of Walt Disney World.
