Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Is Now Opening Earlier Than Ever

Since opening in 2015, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto has become one of the most popular destinations in all of Walt Disney World.

Tucked away inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the lounge has been lauded for its immersive environment, signature cocktails, and unparalleled atmosphere.

Whether you are sipping on a Polynesian Pearl, enjoying a Nautilus as a group, or bringing the tiki gods to life with an Uh-Oa!, there is nothing better than enjoying a beverage in Trader Sam’s.

Trader Sam’s Continuing Popularity

Since the lounge debuted over 10 years ago, Trader Sam’s has opened at 3 PM. While the opening time makes sense for a bar, it has made it increasingly difficult to get a seat in the lounge.

For guests not staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, enjoying Trader Sam’s often requires extensive planning.

Now, after a decade of popularity, Disney is finally making an operational change to the Grog Grotto and Tiki Bar.

The Lounge’s New Hours

A new update to the Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto website has revealed that the lounge will now open at 11 AM.

While Disney has not announced that the change is permanent, the new hours are in place for as far out as the calendar goes. Currently, that is February 14.

So, if you have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World, take advantage of Trader Sam’s new hours. It is now easier than ever to get a seat in perhaps the best-themed establishment on property.
