Why You’ll Love Disneyland in 2026
The Happiest Place on Earth is happier than ever right now!
Disneyland Resort just revealed all its activities coming to the parks over the next 12 months.

Here’s why you’ll love Disneyland in 2026!
70th Anniversary Events

You may think to yourself, “Wait, wasn’t Disneyland’s 70th anniversary in 2025?”
Of course it was! Disneyland celebrated opening its gates 70 years ago in July 1955.

However, Disney theme park parties sometimes last more than a year.
As a recent example, Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary party ran for 18 months.

Disneyland 70 will follow a similar path, with the event not ending until August 9th.
So, you have eight more months to relish all the amazing, limited-time activities at the parks.

In case you’ve forgotten, Disney has gone all out for its 70th anniversary as a theme park business.
You can watch nighttime presentations like World of Color Happiness! and the Paint the Night Parade.

World of Color Happiness
Yes, Disney created a special version of World of Color and brought back Paint the Night just for Disneyland 70.
Similarly, Wondrous Journeys and Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration have returned.

Disneyland has given us all the classics once more! Alas, they may not last past the end of the event.
So, you have from now through the first week of August to enjoy Disneyland 70.
Bluey’s Best Day Ever

Remarkably, Disneyland Resort’s 2026 activities consist of much more fun than just Disneyland 70.
As proof, I’ll tell you about Bluey’s Best Day Ever, the kind of family entertainment we all crave.

For the first time ever, Bluey will appear at Disney theme parks, including Disneyland.
Starting on March 22nd, Fantasyland Theatre will host Bluey and some of her family members.

Bluey and her sister, Bingo, will appear live on stage as they head to school.
That’s right! Disney is theming the building as Bluey’s school.

Comedic actors and musicians will perform music and play games you’ve seen on Bluey.
I’m delighted to inform you that Keepy Uppy is one of them! But it’s far from the only one.

Disney has promised activities involving Gnome Village and Fairy Garden.
So, we’re talking about a highly detailed, wildly creative representation of Bluey the television show.
Disneyland After Dark Nites
Disneyland After Dark will return for 2026, and it’s occurring sooner than you think!
Disney has already sold tickets for some Disneyland After Dark events.

So, let’s quickly go through the list of which parties you can attend in 2026.
We’ll start with the event I’m guessing won’t be available again after this year.

On March 3rd and 5th, you can attend 70 Years of Favorites, which is a kindred spirit to Disneyland 70.
Park officials promise that the event will “take you on a sentimental journey commemorating seven decades of unforgettable moments at the beloved theme park.”

Then, we have the classic option, Sweethearts’ Nite, with tickets already on sale.
Let’s just say that they’ll sell out fast, as the romantically themed event is arguably the most popular Disneyland After Dark option.

Sweethearts’ Nite
Events like the Valentine’s Dance Party and Disney Duets karaoke always draw a crowd.
Another returning event is Star Wars Nite, which is exactly what it sounds like.

This Disneyland After Dark party almost always sells out, especially on May the 4th.
Similarly, Pride Nite will return during June, which is Pride Month.

California’s Governor attended a recent one of these parties, which speaks to their popularity.
Finally, Disney will bring back my favorite of the bunch after a gap year.

Disney Channel Nite was available in 2024 but not 2025. Now, it’s back, and I expect big things.
Disney Channel unites all generations of Disney fans, which makes Disneyland After Dark such a vibe.

To a larger point, there’s a good reason why virtually all Disneyland After Dark parties sell out.
Fans know that they’re the best way to experience The Happiest Place on Earth.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Smuggler’s Run
We’ve got a couple of “new” attractions to discuss, although I’m being loose with my wording here.
As Disneyland Resort creates entirely new experiences at both its parks, progress is a bit slow.

For this reason, Disney is honoring Walt Disney’s legacy by plussing some of the attractions.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will add a new mission, and I promise you’re gonna like it.

In combination with the opening of the new movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, the characters will join the ride.
Baby Yoda and his de facto papa will star on this mission, thereby assuring its popularity.

Fans of Star Wars most assuredly won’t want to miss this one, as it’s a huge upgrade to Smugglers Run.
Soarin’ Across America

Photo: Disney
Similarly, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, Disney will offer an exclusive event.
During Disneyland Celebrates America, several patriotic amenities will be available.

Most importantly, Imagineers have created a new version of Soarin’ just for this event.
Soarin’ Across America will debut on July 2nd, two days before America turns 250.

This version of the attraction will carry guests through many national landmarks and other beautiful landscapes.
Disney hasn’t indicated how long Soarin’ Across America will be around, so you’ll definitely want to prioritize it!
Disneyland Halloween and Day of the Dead

We all know the best two times of the year to visit Disneyland.
Both occur in the second half of the year, as no one does the holidays better than Disney.

Characters – Disneyland Hotel
Starting on August 21st, Disneyland Resort will switch into Halloween mode, and you know what that means.
Haunted Mansion Holiday will make its triumphant return just in time for the spooky season!

Note that Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party begins even earlier on August 18th.
Disneyland is hosting 33 different Oogie Boogie Bash events in 2026, giving you plenty of chances to go.

Also, Día De Los Muertos aka the Day of the Dead will start on August 21st.
For obvious reasons, this event will last a couple of days longer, officially ending on November 2nd.

Disney California Adventure always adds several Coco-inspired experiences for this holiday.
Remember that the park adds several Halloween ride overlays at this time of year, too.
Disneyland Holidays

Finally, you can spend Christmas season at Disneyland starting on November 18th.
Since we’re currently enjoying the 2025 version of this holiday right now, you know the deal.

Imagineers somehow cause snow to fall at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
It’s a Small World features a magical holiday project and digital overlay as well.

Then, we have all the unforgettable elements of spending any holiday at Disneyland.
I’m talking about the exclusive foods, drinks, and merchandise available for a limited time.

Long story short, 2026 promises to be especially magical at The Happiest Place on Earth.
