‘Zootopia 2’ Surpasses $900 Million at the Box Office — How High Can it Climb?
After a largely disappointing year at the box office, Disney returned to theaters this Thanksgiving with the highly anticipated Zootopia 2.
The latest offering from Walt Disney Animation reunites audiences with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, who track the “twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”

“To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town. Where their growing partnership is tested like never before,” the film’s synopsis explains.
The Latest Disney Blockbuster
Leading up to the release of Zootopia 2, it was evident that Disney would soon have another hit on its hands.

However, since hitting theaters, the film has been a box-office juggernaut. Fueled by historic success in China, the second Zootopia has shattered many theatrical records, delivering one of the biggest global openings ever.
Heading into last weekend, the film had already crossed the $600 million mark.

Another Strong Weekend
Despite losing the top spot at the domestic box office to Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Zootopia 2 still delivered a successful second weekend in theaters.

Domestically, the film grossed another $43 million, bringing its North American haul to $220.5 million.
Internationally, the film has now made $694.5 million, for a global cume of $915.8 million.

With Zootopia 2 now set to easily surpass the $1 billion mark, the only question is how high the film can climb.
As things stand, Disney’s latest animated blockbuster has a real chance to make $1.5 billion, and an outside chance at besting Inside Out 2 ($1.698 billion) to become the second-highest-grossing animated film ever.
Regardless of how the final result shakes out, Zootopia 2 is a massive hit.
