Animal Kingdom’s Tropical Americas Construction Reaches a Major Milestone
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the construction of Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the new land will replace DinoLand, U.S.A., and transport guests to Pueblo Esperanza, where they will find new attractions based on Indiana Jones and Encanto.

While parts of DinoLand are still open, construction on Tropical Americas officially kicked off early this year with the closure and demolition of Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama.
Construction Has Continued
Over the last eleven months, we have seen The Boneyard close, the Oldengate Bridge demolished, and a maze of construction walls go up.

The last time we checked in, we shared an aerial view of Tropical America’s construction.

Now, we are back with another update!
The Project Has Reached a Major Milestone
Walt Disney Imagineering took to Instagram this morning to share exciting news about Tropical Americas.

As seen in the new video, construction has officially gone vertical on the attraction’s upcoming Encanto attraction.
When the new ride opens in 2027, guests will be invited to explore the Casa Madrigal on the day Antonio received his gift to communicate with animals.

Inside, riders will find that his room has been transformed into a tropical rainforest!
