Since the 1950s, Walt Disney himself ensured that the parks would go all-out during the holiday season.
People forget this now, but the Candlelight Processional started at Disneyland…in 1955!
Yes, since its opening year, The Happiest Place on Earth has embraced the spirit of the season.
Since then, Disney has spent more than 70 years perfecting all the Yuletide offerings.

Fans know to visit the parks at this time of year to experience special holiday overlays.
The most famous one is Haunted Mansion Holiday, but it’s far from the only ride with an overlay.
In fact, I’d argue that It’s a Small World is more beautiful, while others are also worth your time.
I’m a big fan of Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree just for their silly, upbeat names.

That’s actually one minute more than October, suggesting a VERY strong holiday season in the offing.
You should anticipate larger crowds in December, especially during the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Still, the holiday overlays and warming comfort of Disneyland Resort make it an ideal place to spend the season.
