New Aerial Photos Show the Current Status of Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney delivered the exciting news that a new Monstropolis land was coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Inside the new land, fans will be able to ride the Monsters, Inc. Door Coaster, visit the Glob, and dine at Harryhausen’s!

Since Muppet Courtyard closed last June, we have watched as work on Monstropolis has continued to progress.
So far, we have primarily focused on the demolition of the former Muppets area.

Now, however, we have an update on Monstropolis itself.
Bioreconstruct Shares New Aerial Photography
Thanks to bioreconstruct on X, we can now share an aerial view of the current state of Monstropolis.

As you can see, much of the Muppet infrastructure is still in place, including PizzeRizzo, Muppet Theater, and Gonzo’s Royal Flush.
Here is another look.

Moving behind the former Muppet Courtyard, we can see that significant progress has been made.

Construction has begun on the floor and foundation of the Monsters Inc. Door Coaster.
Another look offers an even better view of the work.

Here is what bioreconstruct had to say about the state of the project.
“Aerial photos with details of floor construction for the Monsters Inc roller coaster. An Auger drills holes, which are filled with concrete. Later, dirt is excavated and the top of the concrete piling is cut. Concrete then poured into forms on top of the pilings, for the floor.”

Construction Continues
While bioreconstruct’s update shows significant progress, there is clearly still a lot of work to be done.

Hopefully, we will get an update on Monstropolis’ opening timeline soon.
