‘Zootopia 2’ Wins Thanksgiving; Continues to Exceeded Box Office Expectations
Amid the family, food, and Thanksgiving festivities yesterday, moviegoers flocked to theaters to see Zootopia 2.
Reuniting audiences with Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, the film follows the dynamic duo as they track the “twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.”

“To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town. Where their growing partnership is tested like never before,” the film’s synopsis explains.
A Strong Debut
As we previously reported, Zootopia 2 got off to a hot start on Wednesday, delivering a $39 million opening day. That was the second-best opening on a Wednesday before Thanksgiving ever.

The question, then, was whether or not the film would be able to keep its momentum going.
The Film Continues To Exceed Expectations
It is now my pleasure to report that Zootopia 2 once again exceeded expectations yesterday, grossing another $19.7 million in domestic theaters.

Now having grossed $59.2 million through Tuesday night, the film is projected to finish its opening five-day period with a gross of between $140 million and $150 million.

That, however, is not the only good news for Disney.
International Success
At the international box office, Zootopia 2 has proven itself to be a juggernaut. By the end of the weekend, the film is expected to add an additional $135 to $145 million to its total.
If everything goes right, the film could reach a $300 million global cume after just five days in theaters.
While it is no secret that 2025 has been a challenging year for Disney at the box office, Zootopia 2 seems to have righted the ship.
With Avatar: Fire and Ash still set to hit theaters this year, Disney will look to finish 2025 strong.
