EPCOT Debuts a New Welcome Message Featuring Walt Disney
Since EPCOT underwent a multi-year transformation that overhauled the park’s central spine, Disney has made a concerted effort to celebrate the park’s history and its connection to Walt Disney.
Small changes, such as the return of pavilion logos, the reintroduction of Figment in the Imagination! pavilion, and the creation of Dreamers Point with its Walt Disney Statue, EPCOT feels more rooted in tradition than it has for years.

Against this backdrop, the park debuted a new welcome message this morning!
Walt Disney Is Now Featured in EPCOT’s Welcome Message
Guests visiting EPCOT are now greeted by a new recording featuring Walt Disney himself.

The message starts out with a clip from the 1966 Walt Disney’s E.P.C.O.T. film, where Walt explained his plans for Disney World, and the essential role that E.P.C.O.T would play.
“The heart of everything we’ll be doing in Disney World will be our Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow. We call it EPCOT,” Walt says.

From there, the park announcer takes over, inviting guests to join in Walt’s dream at EPCOT.
“Disney believed that imagination would lead humanity to achieve the impossible. EPCOT was built on that dream, a celebration of our world and its promise,” the welcome message begins.
“Today, we invite you to share in that celebration and hope that you too will be inspired by the magic of possibility. For your safety, please walk to your destination. Thank you, and enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.”
How Will the Message Change Going Forward?
The new EPCOT welcome message debuted today in conjunction with the start of the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays.
