MickeyBlog News for November 24th, 2025
This week’s news looks a lot like last week’s in that we’ve got two huge stories to cover.
One involves the holiday season at Disney, while the other takes place in international waters.

We’ve got a festive batch of MickeyBlog News for you!
Set Sail on the Destiny

In the 2010s, Disney embarked on a plan to expand its thriving cruise business.
In a matter of just three years, Disney bought a new private island, confirmed new ships, and enhanced their cruise terminals.

Disney Cruise Line (DCL) anticipated a majestic decade of expansion, one briefly derailed by the pandemic.
Thankfully, Disney persevered, and the results have spoken for themselves.

DCL
I’m typing this the week before Thanksgiving 2025, and I already know something about 2026.
Disney has already booked more than half of DCL’s cruise cabins for next year.

That’s amazing when we consider that two new ships are joining the fleet.
The Disney Adventure will set sail in the first quarter of 2026…but the Disney Destiny has beaten it to the punch.

As we speak, the Disney Destiny is completing its maiden voyage as DCL’s newest ship.
The Destiny officially set sail on November 20th and thereby became the seventh ship in the fleet.

Disney Destiny
To a larger point, the Destiny marks a significant milestone for Disney in that it’s a first.
Historically, Disney added two ships in 1998/1999 then two more in 2011/2012.

With the Wish-class ships, the Destiny becomes the third in the line after the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure.
Disney has made incremental improvements every step of the way, with one obvious conclusion.

At this point, the Disney Destiny represents the crown jewel of the DCL fleet.
The Disney Adventure may yet surpass it, as we must wait to see for sure.
More about the Destiny

Still, countless MickeyBlog readers followed our coverage of an early Destiny preview last week.
So, you know just how majestic this ship is, and the style of it isn’t even the best part.

With the “heroes and villains” theme driving the action, the pop-up experiences here are superlative.
Guests can interact with Loki, Cruella de Vil, and even King T’Challa himself!

Disney has cast “traveling storytellers” to host stage presentations.
This rotating entertainment option guarantees that something fun is happening throughout the day.

The Saga Lounge even hosts With Great Power: A Marvel Comedy Show, which…gets a bit blue.
That’s not something you’d expect on a Disney cruise, is it? Hey, the adults need some fun, too!

Disney
Don’t take our word for it, though. Here are glowing reviews from the Orlando Sentinel and Good Housekeeping.
Disney has hit a grand slam here, just like with the Disney Treasure.

Oh, and the Destiny has a Haunted Mansion Parlor, too! So, you’ll get access to it on either ship!
Folks, take it from me, someone who took a Disney cruise for the first time earlier this year.

You WANT to do this. It’s not a coincidence that tourist surveys favor DCL over the theme parks.
The ships provide a much more laid-back kind of Disney vacation, one you should all try at some point.

Happy Holidays, Y’all!

Disney’s holiday season officially started on November 14th at Walt Disney World.
Since then, MickeyBlog reporters have dutifully brought you all the highlights in and around the parks.

Our staff showed you the stunning Christmas tree at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Also, we also disappointed you by letting you know that the hotel lobby won’t feature a gingerbread display this year.

Disney had originally announced one, but plans changed. Creating the perfect gingerbread construct is HARD!
Overall, Disney’s holiday festivities are spectacular at both its American parks.

As an example, Disney has brought back the holiday version of Story Time with Deadpool this year!
This show proved wildly popular last year, and I’d expect more of the same as we finish 2025.

While you’re at Disneyland Resort, you should catch the Christmas Fantasy Parade, too!
Since you’re in the area, you should head over to one of the nearby hotels as well.

Christmas Fantasy Parade – Disneyland
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the best place to be in Anaheim during the holidays.
The annual Gingerbread House here rivals the one at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa each year.

Since we’re not getting a gingerbread build at the Grand Floridian this year, the Grand Californian wins by default.
Still, you’ll find plenty of other gingerbread creations at Walt Disney World’s resorts.

Christmas Carol Gingerbread House – Grand Californian Resort & Spa
For example, the marvelous Gingerbread Carousel has returned to Disney’s Club Resort.
Not to be outdone, here are the Christmas trees at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Oh, and MickeyBlog posted a guide to all the various Santa Claus character greetings this year!
Disney Miscellany

I’ve got a few other stories to cover quickly this week, starting with some other Disney hotel news.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort has completed its lobby transformation. Alas, the pop culture displays are no more.

In party news, we warned you. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has sold out all dates.
Disney Jollywood Nights is also booking its dates. If you want to go, speak with MickeyTravels now!

In other holiday news, Lightning Lanes are selling out for this week. If you want to buy one, hurry!
In theme park news, I’m thrilled to tell you that Mickey’s PhilharMagic has reopened at Magic Kingdom.

Disney also experienced a brief snafu with Mobile Ordering, presumably as part of the Cloudflare outage.
At Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, guests staying at the resort should know of upcoming dock renovations.

Finally, since I know you have Disney Destiny on the brain right now, here’s a guide Kristin Sabol wrote.
You should also know about an amazing Disney Cruise Line offer available right now.
