As you would expect, each participant in the 5K had their own unique story, including Michelle Lugu, a 31-year Cast Member in Disney retail.
For Mitchelle, the 5K strengthened her family’s bond as she ran with her husband, Melyn, and 17-year-old daughter.

“We’re so grateful to be able to do this as a family,” Mitchelle said. “Between work and school, quality time can be hard to come by. Cast events like this holiday 5K bring us together to support each other in new and exciting challenges. It helps us stay on track with our health and gives us a chance to spend time together!”
An Event Spanning Generations
Also joining Mitchelle this year was John Cogliandro, manager of location planning, who participated in the race for his first time with his wife and 12-year-old son.
Finally, they were joined by Tyler Saunders, a Disney Programs professional intern who recently began her career at Disney.
