Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Idina Menzel Score Massive Paydays To Return For ‘Frozen 3’ and ‘Frozen 4’
At last year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan event, Frozen fans got the news they had long been waiting for when Jennifer Lee took the stage to announce that Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 were both in development.
While the historic success of Frozen 2 made more sequels feel inevitable, Disney had been playing coy about the status of Frozen 3 for years. With Lee’s announcement, however, it became clear that the studio had big plans for the franchise.

In the 15 months since Frozen 3 was announced, we have learned more about the film.
‘Frozen 3’
Last September, Disney revealed the synopsis for Frozen 3 at its Consumer Products Division Launch Conference for the Greater China Region.

“In this new chapter, witness the wedding of the century in Arendelle as Queen Anna walks down the aisle and joins Elsa on a new magical journey filled with unknown challenges,” the synopsis reads.
“And what’s even more exciting: the royal family is about to welcome a mysterious new member!”

Though there has never been any doubt that Disney wants the Frozen stars to reprise their iconic roles in the upcoming sequels, Josh Gad previously revealed in September that the cast had not yet started recording or heard the film’s songs.

Per The Wrap report, the trio of stars earned $15 million each for their work on Frozen 2. Going forward, they have doubled that salary per film.
The Details
It should be noted, however, that the new Frozen deals are not lump-sum payments. Instead, they are to be paid out over multiple years and are contingent on each film’s box-office performance.

Gad, Bell, and Menzel will reportedly earn close to $20 million upfront.
With Frozen‘s principal cast locked in to return and Lee once again sitting in the director’s chair, the future of the Frozen franchise looks bright.

Hopefully, we will learn more about Disney’s plans for Frozen 3 and Frozen 4 soon.
