Disney Files Interesting New Permit For Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog this year, you know that Magic Kingdom is undergoing a period of change.
Over the last several months, we have seen Big Thunder Mountain close for refurbishment, Tom Sawyer Island demolished, the Rivers of America, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin close for renovations in Tomorrowland.

Tom Sawyer Island has been demolished and the Rivers of America drained.
Additionally, the Emporium has received new flooring, Haunted Mansion’s queue has been updated, and the Critter Co-Op has been renovated.

During this time, Adventureland has largely been left out of the season of refurbishments.
That, however, may soon change.
A New Permit Has Been Filed
Earlier this week, Disney filed a permit for the refurbishment of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.

The new document calls for General Construction and assigns the work to frequent Disney contractor PCL Construction.
While it is clear that Disney has plans for the Tiki Room, fans don’t have anything to worry about.

The new permit was filed by Facilities Assets Management, not Walt Disney World Imagineering.
Traditionally, these kinds of permits point towards infrastructure work, not some kind of show change.
Disney Has Not Announced a Refurbishment
At this time, Disney has not announced that the Tiki Room will close for any kind of refurbishment.
