If you’ve been following along with us this week, you know that Disney invited us on a special preview aboard the new Disney Destiny cruise ship!

The new ship has so much to offer, from exclusive entertainment to dining.
We recently gave you a first look at one of the main dining offerings on board — Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King. And now, we’re sitting down for a meal at the new spot, so come along with us!
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is a unique musical dining experience that you can’t find anywhere else!

The restaurant celebrates Simba’s journey to fulfill his destiny as King of the Pride Lands.
Atmosphere
The restaurant draws inspiration from the African savanna. It features unique depictions of animals and nature that are brought to life through expert lighting and special effects.
The posts feature lights that flicker and change throughout the show, as well as interactive windows that change to display different animals and scenes.

There are even intricate wood carvings in the hallway that drew inspiration from the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Along the back wall, you can see large windows that transform from sunrises to sunsets throughout the meal.

In the center of the restaurant, you will see tiered risers that mimic the look of African drums. The experience is authentic and immersive!
Entertainment

A main feature of this restaurant is that it’s a musical retelling of the story of The Lion King!

Throughout the meal, the singers and musicians perform the iconic songs from the movie.

They are using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters.

Background vocals are currently cast from The Lion King on Broadway, bringing an amazing richness and emotion to the iconic songs.

You can expect to see:
- Productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata”
- A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared”

- An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with an interpretive dance
- A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show.

The heartbeat of the show is family, and the audience loved it!

Food & Drinks

Check out the menu below!

Guests can indulge in the delicious flavors of African cuisine with creative spins on timeless DCL favorites.
We’ve got a look at the Kids Menu, too!

Inside this kids’ activity book, you will find the menu and some activities for young ones!

Here is a closer look at the menu.

And, the back has more fun!

The experience incorporates authentic spice blends, regional sauces, and customary grains and produce. Chefs from all over the world partnered with DCL to bring authentic African flavors to the menu.

Here is everything we tried!
We started with the Mosbolletjies Bread and Mint-coriander-cumin yogurt dip…

. ..then we enjoyed the Beef Tenderloin Salad…

…and the Romaine Heart Salad, which was ok, just a little basic and boring for what we expected.

Next, we had the Shrimp Curry, as well as the Peri-Peri Shrimp appetizer, which was cooked perfectly with great flavor and not too spicy.

It was very similar to shrimp and grits, and in our opinion, it is the best appetizer. It comes with a vegetable salsa that brings a bit of the spice.

We also had the Roasted Red Capsicum soup, which had a sweet tomato flavor but a very pasty texture. However, the crostini is a delicious addition!
