Bob Iger Says That Disney+ Will Soon Allow User-Generated Content
The business world’s attention once again turned to Disney this morning, as Bob Iger presented the company’s earnings for FY2025.
While Disney’s latest financial update was largely a mixed bag, Disney’s streaming business delivered sterling results.

Last quarter, Disney’s direct-to-consumer business shattered Wall Street’s expectations, adding 12.4 million subscribers, which is 2 million more than anticipated.
Overall, the unit saw its operating income rise $99 million to $352 million. Revenue also increased by 8%.

According to the Disney CEO, the plan is for Disney+ to incorporate “a number of game-like features,” which will tie into the company’s agreement with Epic Games.
User-Generated Content
Additionally, Iger teased that user-generated content will eventually be integrated into the platform.

“The other thing that we’re really excited about, that AI is going to give us the ability to do, is to provide users of Disney+ with a much more engaged experience, including the ability for them to create user-generated content and to consume user-generated content — mostly short-form — from others,” he continued.
Clearly, Disney still has exciting plans for their streaming future.
