‘Rob Lake Magic With Special Guests The Muppets’ Is Closing After Just Four Regular Performances
Earlier this year, Muppet fans got the news that they had waited years for when Rob Lake announced that Kermit and the gang would be joining him on Broadway!
After 50 years in the show business, The Muppets finally conquered their last frontier, making their Broadway debut on October 28.
“I’ve been performing magic my entire life, and it has always been my greatest dream to perform my show on Broadway,” says Lake in a statement.

“Like so many people around the world, I grew up with The Muppets. To work with them and create new illusions for them to appear in my show has been the most rewarding and surprisingly familiar moment. It’s like I have known them my entire life.”
Expectations Were High
When the collaboration between Lake and The Muppets was first announced, expectations were high.

“After years of touring the world, we are so excited that Broadway audiences will finally get to marvel at the exceptional talents of Rob Lake,” said producers Joe Quenqua and Glass Half Full’s Gareth Lake. “Pairing his mind-blowing illusions with The Muppets and their singular classic humor is truly a dream come true—for all of us!”

Unfortunately, the show has not been a rousing success.
