Walt Disney Studios Surpasses $4 Billion at the 2025 Global Box Office
After Predator: Badlands destroyed box office expectations this weekend on its way to an $80 million global debut, The Walt Disney Studios has now surpassed the $4 billion mark for the fourth consecutive year.
Heading into 2025, it was clear that Disney had the opportunity to have a wildly successful year in theaters.

Unfortunately, the studio’s slate of films delivered mixed results.
Disney’s Uneven Box Office Results
The year got off to a slow start when Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts* fell short of expectations, and Snow White bombed.

Luckily, Disney had their live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch up their sleeve. The film would gross over $1 billion.
Heading through the summer, Elio delivered the worst performance ever by a Pixar film, while The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Freakier Friday had unremarkable box office runs.

Then, last month, TRON: Ares flopped.

Finally, however, the success of Predator: Badlands was enough to push Disney over the $4 billion mark.
The Best Is Yet To Come
The good news for the studio is that its two biggest films of 2025 have yet to be released.

In just a few weeks, Zootopia 2 is set to scurry into theaters. The film is tracking towards a massive Thanksgiving week debut.
Finally, the year will close out with the highly anticipated release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

When all is said and done, both of Disney’s upcoming sequels could gross $1 billion each, propelling the studio over the $6 billion mark.

Once again, Disney has proven itself king of the box office.
