The Perch Atmosphere
The Perch is the name of Grand Floridian’s all-new lobby bar, and it officially opened today, November 10!

The new bar’s design pays tribute to Grand Floridian’s Victorian roots, with custom stained glass, herringbone tile, and intricate woodwork.

Overall, it has obviously been inspired by a bird cage!

The bar itself has 10 seats, with two being accessible seats. They are all first-come, first-served!

However, you do not need to be seated to order a drink — you can order one at the bar and take it to a nearby chair in the lobby to enjoy it.

Some nearby small tables also appear to be served by the bar!

Let’s try some of the drinks!
Review
The Perch’s menu features champagne, wine, beer, and two signature cocktails, along with non-alcoholic options.

The two signature cocktails are the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac and the Floridian 75.

The Sunshine State Rum Sazerac is made with Siesta Key coffee rum, Demerara, absinthe rinse, Peychaud’s bitters, and a lemon essence for $17.50.

This is a smooth, booze-forward cocktail with a strong coffee flavor! The absinthe rinse also gives it a bit of a kick.
The lemon essence made the drink a little more refreshing and added a touch of citrus flavor!

Meanwhile, the Floridian 75 is made with Fords gin, Florida citrus cordial, and lemon, topped with Taittinger ‘la Francaise’ Brut Champagne for $22.

This is a delicious champagne cocktail! It’s not too heavy on the gin, but it does give the drink a nice herbal note.
The orange cordial gives the drink a bright citrus flavor, making it more balanced. There is a slight bitterness, too, that keeps it from being too sweet!

We also tried the Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea for $8, which is non-alcoholic, fresh-brewed Twinnings iced tea, lemon, blueberry, and basil.

This was a fruity, refreshing twist on an iced tea! The freshly muddled blueberries are perfectly complemented by the basil.

You should definitely check out the bar here if you’re over at the Grand Floridian! It’s a welcome addition to the gorgeous new lobby.
