PHOTOS: Numerous Ticket Booths Close in Disneyland’s Esplanade
As the transformation of Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District continues, a significant change has taken place at the resort’s esplanade.
When visiting The Happiest Place on Earth this weekend, we noticed that the ticket booths on the west side of the entrance area are now closed.

As you can see, the kiosks have been shuttered and are no longer in use.
Ticketing Has Moved to the Disneyland Newsstand
Guests hoping to purchase new theme park tickets are now being directed to the newsstand near the entrance to Disneyland Park.

Previously, guests would go to this location to report something they had lost or found.

As you can see, yellow tape has been placed on the ground to help facilitate guest flow.

If you are not sure where the newsstand is, here is a look at the Disneyland map.

Why the Change?
While Disneyland has not announced why the West Side esplanade ticket booths have closed, the decision is clearly related to the ongoing work in Downtown Disney.

The temporary Earl of Sandwich has closed
As we reported, the park’s temporary Earl of Sandwich shop has closed, and construction is now set to begin on Porto’s Bakery.
Based on the location of the closed ticket booths, it appears that this area will be incorporated into Downtown Disney and used to facilitate the Porto’s construction.

Hopefully, we will get a clearer picture of the project’s scope soon!
