Everything You Need to Know About Disney Lorcana

Disney Lorcana is a trading card game where you play as an Illumineer.

You use magical ink to summon character glimmers, items, actions, and locations. Your goal is to reach 20 lore before your opponent. (Think of lore as points that you gain during the game.)

Here is what you’ll see in a deck:
• Character glimmers: beloved Disney characters with different abilities
• Items: tools that give extra benefits during your turn
• Actions: one-time cards that help you react quickly
• Songs: special actions you can “sing” using a character
• Locations: places that give bonuses or even lore when visited

Card Rarities

Card rarities help you understand how common or special a card is. From easiest to hardest to find: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, Epic, Enchanted, Iconic

Higher rarities often include more detailed art and premium finishes.

Magical ink powers the realm. There are six inks: Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Steel.

Each ink has a personality:

• Amber focuses on teamwork and songs
• Amethyst is mystical
• Emerald is flexible and adaptable
• Ruby is bold and fast
• Sapphire is thoughtful and inventive
• Steel is strong and resilient

Disney Lorcana

Every glimmer belongs to one or two of these inks. When you build a deck, you pick the ink combinations that fit your style.

Lorcana has released ten sets so far, each expanding the story:

• The First Chapter
• Rise of the Floodborn
• Into the Inklands
• Ursula’s Return
• Shimmering Skies
• Azurite Sea (dual ink cards introduced)
• Archazia’s Island
• Reign of Jafar
• Fabled (Epic and Iconic rarities introduced)
• Whispers in the Well

Each set includes over 200 cards, plus special full-art versions. Fans collect them, play with them, and look for the rarest versions.

How to Play

Disney Lorcana

To play, each person needs a 60-card deck, damage counters, and a way to track lore. You can start with pre-built decks that are ready right out of the box.

Many players enjoy building their own by picking cards tied to a favorite Disney movie or theme.
