‘Predator: Badlands’ Is Tracking Towards a $60 Million Global Debut
After the disappointing box office results of TRON: Ares, Disney is set to return to theaters this weekend with 20th Century Studios’ Predator: Badlands.
Starring Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, Badlands will transport audiences to a remote planet where a young predator, banished from his clan, befriends an unlikely ally and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.

The first installment in the Predator franchise since Hulu’s well-received Prey, Badlands will also be the first Predator feature film released since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox.

Previously, the studio has been able to successfully relaunch the Planet of the Apes and Alien franchises.
‘Predator: Badlands’
With just days to go until Predator: Badlands hits theaters, we can now report that the film is tracking towards a domestic opening of $25+ million and a global debut of $60 million.

While such a debut would fall short of last year’s Alien: Romulus, which delivered a $42 million domestic debut, Predator has also been the less-popular of the two franchises.

The last Predator feature film, The Predator, delivered a $24.7 million opening on its way to a $160 million debut.
What Does Re
While Disney would surely like Badlands to match its predecessor’s box office total, if the film can at least break even (it reportedly has a $100 million budget) while breathing new life into the Predator franchise, the Mouse House should be happy.
